Italian scaleup 40Factory has announced a strategic investment in FruitfulAI AG, a Zurich-based startup specialized in AI Machine Vision solutions for industrial environments. 40Factory subscribed the majority of the round, while MFL Group joined as a follow-up investor after FruitfulAI’s 2025 Seed Round.
The investment aims to integrate FruitfulAI’s Video Intelligence technology into 40Factory’s Industrial IoT & Agentic AI platform, enabling new use cases based on the analysis of video streams from cameras installed across production lines, shop floors and operating areas, with applications in production efficiency, process and product quality, operating-condition monitoring and worker safety.
As part of the deal, Camillo Ghelfi, founder and CEO of 40Factory, will join FruitfulAI’s board alongside Andres Cartagena Ruiz (MFL Group), Patrick Albrecht (CEO) and Thomas Kleiven (CTO).
The investment bank Cenciarini & Co. assisted 40Factory in the transaction, along with Gefran S.p.A. for the due diligence. The mandate sits within a long-standing relationship with 40Factory, a long-term investment of Cenciarini & Co., which was among the early backers of the company, participating in the 2022 Seed Round, and subsequently advised the management on the Series A negotiation with Gefran closed in January 2025.

La scaleup italiana 40Factory ha annunciato un investimento strategico in FruitfulAI AG, startup con sede a Zurigo specializzata in soluzioni di AI Machine Vision applicate agli ambienti industriali. 40Factory sottoscrive la quota di maggioranza del round, mentre MFL Group entra nel capitale come follow-up investor dopo il Seed Round di FruitfulAI del 2025.

A seguito dell’operazione, Camillo Ghelfi, fondatore e CEO di 40Factory, entrerà nel consiglio di amministrazione di FruitfulAI AG insieme ad Andres Cartagena Ruiz (MFL Group), Patrick Albrecht (CEO) e Thomas Kleiven (CTO).
L’investment bank Cenciarini & Co. ha assistito 40Factory nell’operazione, insieme a Gefran S.p.A. per le attività di due diligence. Il mandato si inserisce in una relazione di lungo periodo con 40Factory, investimento storico di Cenciarini & Co., che è stata tra i primi sostenitori del progetto partecipando al Seed Round del 2022 e ha successivamente affiancato il management nella negoziazione del Series A con Gefran chiuso nel gennaio 2025.
